The Restylane family of products includes Restylane, Perlane, Restylane vital, Restylane lip volume are hyaluronic Acid, non-animal, non-human and is biodegradable substance.
Hyaluronic Acid is a type of sugar that exists naturally in the human body then has low risk of allergic reaction and will be absorbed by body and can be used to add volume to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the lines from nose to the corners of the mouth (Nasolabial folds), for lip enhancement or cheek and chin augmentation.
Skin test for allergy is not needed and the result will remain more than 6months. Injection can be done under local anesthesia. The side effects of bruising and swelling is transient.
Radiesse is a volumizing filler with FDA approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as Nasolabial Folds or back of hands.
This filler is not useful for lip enhancement.
Injection of all types of filler by microcannula has decreased the risks of bruising and swelling and it is a safe way for filler injection.
